Gone camping

In the IBC my company went camping together to learn teamwork and leadership. While there we are told to filter though our many ideas and come up with one that will work. And so we did. We quickly filters the many different ideas down to 4 main ones that we thought might work. A straw maze, Hay rides, selling t-shirts and sweatshirts, or having a dry cleaning service. It took us less than 5 days to filter 500 ideas and filter down to 4, it took another week and a half since camping to filter out 3 of the 4. How, not why, how does it take longer to filter 3 ideas out when it took only 5 days to filter our 496 ideas.

Now, a week and a half after camping, tomorrow, we need to have a finalized version of our business plan. Pristine, beautiful, logical, and understandable business plan. We have found it is difficult to meet as a company since it is hard to find an opening for 25 people in their schedules. So when we do we need to be efficient and effective. Move with the agenda, get things done. The company met last Friday, we have a week to go:
"What decisions do we need to make."
"What do you mean what product are we selling?"
"I thought we already decided that."
So we decided to sell t-shirts and sweatshirts, then change our minds to winter apparel, then change our minds to chap sticks and lotions, then we decide to sell only sweatshirts, then we have an argument on what decision to make about what to decide on. Yesterday, I show up ready to get to work and crunch some numbers out so we can get this thing rolling. I ask, "How much are we selling these things for?" What did they respond with ... you will never believe. "Wait, did we make a decision on what we are selling?" **Sigh** ha.ha. Let me get this straight, your telling me that we spent over 10 total hours of arguing and debating and filtering and still haven't come up with what to sell even when we were suppose to have what our business was A WEEK AND A HALF AGO!

So to say the least it is pretty frustrating to go to class and find out that we are still trying to decide on what to decide on. There are some days when I just want to slap these people crazy and show them that we need this done in less than 72 hours or we will not get a loan for a business and FAIL the IBC because we can't run a business.
